Thank you so much for your visit, the children loved it. ... See MoreSee Less

A busy day at the beach, starting with "sports day" with the children showing off their physical skills.
An exciting visit for Tideline Trash and Treasures, making an octopus out of rubbish discarded on our beaches. The children then headed to the beach, exploring the rock pools with some lucky finds. After a picnic lunch a woodland walk, and the children created their own story boards. A really fab day, thank you to everyone who came along.

What a difference a week makes. No waterproofs this week for Forest school, just suncream required.
The children spent the morning exploring their surroundings that had grown up significantly from all the rain. Extending the children's interest from the other week when one child found a random page from a reading book at Forest school, a very exciting find as he believed it to be a treasure map and showed the group. This week they searched for hidden bottles with messages and maps inside before finding "X marks the spot" sign and the problem solving began. The children encouraged each other to lift, carry and dig before the delight of finding a box of treasure. It was full of gold sparkly bags full of shiny jewels, coloured gem stones and old coins. This sparked lots of new language, ideas and imaginary stories. The children then set about making their own maps to put back in the bottles for next weeks children to search for.

Forest School; we were not going to let the rain stop us! With waterproofs and wellies, off we went.
The morning evolved from exploring our surroundings to finding a bucket with a small amount of water. The children wanted to make the biggest splashes from items they found, but they discovered to make a big splash they needed more water....and so it began. Working together they collected water where ever they could in whatever they could find. There were plenty of challenges they had to over come but working together this was achieved.
And once the bucket was full an area of soil became the next target. It became a "sticky, squelchy, thick, heavy, sinking" area of mud.
The children showed no signs of stopping with one comment " this has been the best day ever!"
Eventually we took shelter for a quick snack before heading back to get dry.

There will be alot of Jubilee Celebrations over the next few days and I couldn't have been more prouder than ours.
The children loved getting ready for the party, from painting the bunting to making the cakes.
The children gave a performance of songs, including The National Anthem and the afternoon was finished by a picnic in the sun. Walking into the garden and seeing the bunting swaying and families all together, there really was a sense of Jubilee 🥰

All of the children iced their biscuits that they had made today, they all did very well not to eat any of them although some were very tempted!
They also helped to thread the bunting they had made onto string ready for the party!
